The first time I did a thorough clean of my DC29 I took all the screws out of the cyclone part and took it fully apart like this, but since then, after seeing how it's constructed inside, when I do a thorough wash I wash the whole cyclone part with sprayed water and filling it up and shaking it several times with clean water. This gets it just as clean without taking it fully apart, which you wouldn't want to do too often as they are self tapping screws into plastic.

oh no, she stopped right before what I needed: the root cyclone- inside disassembly/cleaning. There is a dead space there that fills up too. It is between the perforated screen on the outside and the multiple nozzles on the inside. There are no screws, no recognizable latches yet it is definitely disassemble-able as there is a rubber gasket all around. But no obvious way how to undo the thing. SOLVED: there ARE 3 screws concealed under slide-out caps around the circumference of the ultimate gasket (not shown in the video above). Now is everything clear and clean :-) . Thank you for your video!!! Very helpful.
